Hallenbeck's Show Now I love Hallenbeck's, and I'm not one to slander unneccesarily, but this was the most tired crowd of people I have ever played to, in my entire music career. Flat? No. These guys were beyond flat. They were down right comatose. At one point I actually asked them if they even knew they were at a Rock concert, and they had to bring in a defibulator to get one of them going again. Nice people, but in no mood for Rock and Roll apparently. Set List: In Trouble Again, Walkin Through the Rain, Losin Sleep, Hitchiking, Don't Lie, Back Up Man, Sadness Can't Find the Movin Soul, Last Call Sunday, April 10, 2005 To all of you Price is Right fans out there...I am excited to say I attended a taping of the show a couple weeks ago, and it is airing on April 12th at 11am. I am actually really excited to say that. On a great side note, inbetween times when we were actually taping the show, Bob would field questions from the crowd. Here was one exchange: Me: Hey Bob, how much can you bench? Bob: I don't know, what's average? Me: I'd say 150, maybe 175. Bob: Oh I could do two and a quarter then, no problem. Barker is a funny guy. He even at one point during the show goes, "The Price is Right, Bitch!" Great day to say the least. Even if we got there at 4am. Wednesday, April 06, 2005 Important Happenings Did a bit of updating on the site. Changed a couple of the main pages, nothing too huge. There are some new songs to scope out on the Updates page (www.mickfury.com/updates.htm) that I think are worth checking out. Production is limited, but I like where they are headed, thought you guys might wanna check them out. On a more solemn note...no more Mitch Hedberg. I'm not really one to care when a celebrity dies (call me cold), but I hated to hear this news. Great comedian, such a shame. Check out some of his clips on www.mitchhedberg.net And no more Pope either. Wow. What a week. Seemed like a pretty good guy. Always dug the cap. I've actually been to the Vatican...one of the most amazing places in the world. Read "Angels and Demons", you'll get an idea. Perfect book for the times. Here's a bit of trivia from the Furious archives. To pick a new Pope, they have a meeting of the 115 or so Cardinals and take a secret vote. If the vote is not 2/3rds + 1 in favor of a new Pope, they burn the ballots and add a chemical to make the smoke come out black. If, however, the smoke comes out a white, a new Pope has been elected. I guess most people know this, but the neat fact is...this whole process is called "Conclave," which in Italian literally means "with key" because they are locked down during the whole process. Hmm, learn something new everyday. Never thought it would be on mickfury.com though did ya? I think its kind of strange that Vegas is taking odds on who the next Pope is going to be. Kind of an ironic contrast considering Catholicisms strict views on gambling. That said, I am going with Tettamanzi of Milan. 11/4 favorite....keep it in the Italian family! Kick ass. Rock and Roll.
