March 27th, 2007 The Fury in the Daily Orange and The Post Standard Daily Orange ran this interview... When The Fury rolls into Lucy's Retired Surfer's bar tonight, the band will have one goal: to revive the Syracuse music scene and to promote its new album. "The music scene here has been a little dry lately," said Bryan Wynn, the Fury's manager. "This is a step toward making it better." Boasting two Syracuse-area natives, The Fury is excited to return to its roots, Wynn said. He said the band plays an upbeat rock and roll style that will make for fun party music in the bar that will keep the crowd going all night. "It gets the girls dancing and having a good time," Wynn said. The Fury released its first album, "She Rocked Me," this year, and the songs debuted on iTunes during the past two weeks. The album's cover features a photo of the lead singer, Mick Fury, holding a guitar to the sky with his back to the camera and no clothes on. This show will serve as way of generating publicity for the album, as well as generating a buzz for music in general in the area. Mark Bialczak, music critic, The Post standard, said: "...2007 has been a good year for the band. The songs are doing well on iTunes...and the popularity of "She Rocked Me" has helped land regional gigs such as a radio show in Geneseo next weekend..." February 26th, 2007 The Fury on Itunes! September 2006 Mick Fury: Such An Ass! Syracuse New Times "Local guitarist-singer Mick Fury fumed when he read The Post- Standard's Aug. 3 review of She Rocked Me, which claimed his bare backside on the cover's inlay belonged to a "hot chick." The New Times got to the bottom of the situation, however, and confirmed that the cheeky image undoubtedly belongs to Fury. Fury's previous bout with the local press came about during his June 2 comments after the Syracuse Area Music Awards; after losing the Best Rock Recording honor to Muzzlestamp, he was quoted in The New Times' June 7 Sammys coverage as saying, "Muzzlestamp is horrible." Devotees of the band rallied and posted their own insults about Fury on Syracuse-specific sites. Fury's still taking the backlash in stride while promoting both his new eight-song independent album She Rocked Me and his adherence to the rock'n'roll lifestyle, which he practices on a daily basis. Between sips of vodka tonic at Coleman's, 100 S. Lowell Ave., Fury insisted that he show his bare buns to confirm the cover shot's authenticity. After the mooning, Fury proclaimed, "I need to live in the rock n' roll zoo, I'm an animal...." -Julie Pinsoneault, Syracuse New Times August 8, 2006 Mark Bialczak of the Syracuse Post Standard reviewed The Fury's "She Rocked Me" this week and wrote: "Crisp, Crunchy and Cool The Fury's 'She Rocked Me' worth listening to With "She Rocked Me" Mick Fury shows what he learned in the years he chased his musical muse out there in LA. The Syracuse native has returned home with the solid knowledge that his songwriting, singing, and rhythm guitar playing can rock the world. With his band The Fury - Aaron Giffin on drums, Jeff Martina on bass and Michael Burns on lead guitar - he's put out a tasty 8 song collection that's crisp, crunchy, and cool. It starts with 'Sunset Stripper,' opening a window into what it was like out there under the bright sun and brighter neon lights. Fury's ballads stand up too, including the slow and intense 'Ain't My Fate' as he sings, "Love is a game. I'll admit it, you outplayed me, you're so clever hun." Acoustic guitars make a sad bed for his live confessional recorded at Highland Grounds in Hollywood, "Sadness Can't Find the Movin' Soul" as Fury sings "driving across the country runnin' away from somethin'" With his cover selection, The Fury lets the world know that they like things over on the wild side. It features a from-behind concert shot of him facing the crowd, triumphantly holding his guitar aloft. And he's buck naked." May 24, 2006 Such a saucy bitch Apologies to my adoring fans for not updating my site lately. Shit's been goin on but the site has not been working properly to allow me to keep you posted.
